A Critical Look at U.S. Media Coverage of Antiquities Issues

Read my analysis of major newspapers’ coverage of antiquities, delivered at Yale University in 2007 as the issue of questionable museum holdings was revving up.

Perhaps the oft-repeated complaints that U.S. arts reporting is sinking into a morass of celebrity fluff are overstated. Newspapers are probing corruption at cultural institutions and finding some very bad stuff.
